An Ordinance to amend the Industrial Statistics Act, 1942

Preamble.— WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Industrial Statistics Act, 1942, in its application to the Province of West Pakistan in the manner hereinafter appearing;

      NOW, THEREFORE, in pursuance of the Presidential Proclamation of the 7th day of October, 1958, and in exercise of all powers enabling him in that behalf, the Governor of West Pakistan is pleased to make and promulgate the following Ordinance:-

1.   Short title.— This Ordinance may be called the Industrial Statistics (West Pakistan Amendment) Ordinance, 1958.

2.   Insertion of section 4-A in Act XIX of 1942.— After section 4 of the Industrial Statistics Act, 1942, the following new section shall be inserted, namely:-

      “4-A.   Delegation of powers and functions-The statistics authority may, with the previous approval of the Provincial Government, direct that all or any of the powers and functions to be exercised and performed by the statistics authority under this Act, shall be exercised and performed by any other officer or authority subordinate to the Provincial Government subject to such conditions, if any, as may be specified in the direction.”
