An Act to amend the Suits Valuation Act, 1887, in its application to the Punjab

Preamble.— WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Suits Valuation Act, 1887, in its application to the Punjab in order to provide for the valuation for jurisdictional purposes of suits brought by reversiones under the Punjab Customary Law for a declaration in respect of alienation of ancestral land;

      It is hereby enacted as follows:-

1.   Short title and extent.— (1) This Act may be called the Suits Valuation (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1938.

      (2)  It extends to the Punjab.

2.   [Deletion of heading in the Suits Valuation Act, 1887]. Omitted by the Suits Valuation (Punjab Amendment) Act, 1942 (XIII of 1942).

3.   Amendment of section 4 of the Suits Valuation Act, 1887.— In section 4 of the Suits Valuation Act, 1887, after the word and figures “Article 17”, the word and figures “or 22” shall be deemed to be inserted.
